It’s hard to believe I am back from book tour! 8 weeks and 9 cities! What an incredible experience it was to bake from Bread and Roses with so many great crowds in so many wonderful places. Hearing people begin to bake, bake again or just get in the kitchen and make anything because they were inspired by the book is the best part of sharing recipes with people. Truly thank you everyone who came out. It was a dream come true! Currently planning some events for Spring so stay tuned!

Below is a round up of the best cookie recipes of mine that have been published over the years for your last minute holiday baking:

Puckerdoodles - Corn Snickerdoodles with Sumac for a sour punch in the LA Times!

Amoretti with Ruby Dip - Gluten free classic Italian Almond Cookie dipped in ruby Chocolate in the Washington Post!

Semolina Chocolate Chunk Cookie - The perfect custard middle and crispy edged cookie in Cake Zine.

Barley Miso Chocolate Chunk - Barley Miso make this cookie sing on Hayden Flour Mills.

Rainbow Crunch Chocolate Chip Cookie - Featuring Brown Butter and Spelt and rolled in Rainbow Sprinkles for a colorful crunch!

Strawberry PopTarts with Foie Gras - We could argue this isn’t a cookie, but its undeniably delicious in the Los Angeles. Make for a special treat for your holiday party!

And for paid subscribers find two cookies below that have become the most popular from Bread and Roses for the Holiday Season. (Scroll to the bottom!) My sweet friend, Yossy Arefi, recently made the Chocolate Crinkle Cookies and they came out beautiful! And I have loved seeing everyones variation on the Linzer using different nuts and jams for the filling. Can’t wait to see what you guys bake up!

Reading: The End of Night by Paul Bogard. A fascinating book I picked up a few years ago while hiking at Rocky Mountains National Park. A deep mediation on the wild primal night sky and what it has meant to us as a species. Due to the rise of electricity, we no longer access night vision and few of us ever experience total darkness. Natural history, science and personal narrative combine to tell the story of the night.

Obsessed with: I’m a huge fan of Cold Cream, a women owned small business specializing in food theme merchandise. I have a few pendants, bumper stickers and started a sweatshirt collection. My newest and most prized is my BUTTER sweatshirt. It’s basically a religion.

Inspired By: Good.is is a website featuring good news stories. it has been around for over a decade and I have loved it always. If you’ve never checked it out, do yourself a favor and get some good in your life.

Just for Fun: Pink seems to be the color of Christmas this year! Im normally not for fake trees, but there is something about pink tinsel that has my heart beating faster. Do you have a pink tree? I wanna see it!
