Summer is all about parties and easy handheld foods! And the STAR of your summer gathering should be this weeks recipe. She goes by the name of Anytime Fried Pizzas. Did you know pizza was originally a fried street food? We know pizza today as a full-sized pie with a golden crust and bubbling toppings coming out of a ripping hot oven. Pizza’s origins however, like much of the best foods of Italy, are as a crushable street food. Smaller for handheld enjoyment and with the dough initially fried before being topped with sauce and cheese. And then finished briefly with top heat. Or often flipped into a parcel and finished more resembling a modern Calzone.
The result is the crispy outer crust and inner fluff of dreams. The toppings of your choice melt but don’t scorch like often happens in modern pizza. The best part is it only takes a few minutes to fry and finish, instead of more than half an hour in a home oven. I think they are best made free form, don’t stress yourself out into making each one a perfect round. The fry oil will also help make each one unique. SO GO AHEAD AND MAKE THE OG. Recipe below for Paid Subscribers.
IS THERE ANOTHER REASON IM PUMPED AF FOR THIS NEWSLETTER - YES! If you can do good while having a good time how could it get any better? Below are all the details for the FUNdraiser of the summer. Has there ever been so many LA baking Superstars gathered together at once? NO. Do you want to miss out on it? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Do I recommend buying a VIP ticket to try all the treats, GET A COOL TOTE and do the most? HELL YEAH.
