I’m Rose Wilde — chef, writer, and author of Bread and Roses (Norton/Countryman Press, 2023), with a new cookbook on the way from Chronicle. I grew up in Ecuador in a big, loud, beautiful family and have traveled, lived and cooked my way across the world — from Tibet to Morocco to LA. Formerly a human rights lawyer, now a Master Food Preserver, Master Gardener, and devoted chicken wrangler.
I bake with whole grains and botanicals, and cook produce-forward, herb-rich, acid-heavy comfort food with a global soul that blends inspirations, honors cultures and tells stories. Here, I share recipes and musings from my kitchen to yours. Expect a global perspective, seasonal obsessions, and plenty of joy.
